Abstract
|
In many large software projects, CVS [Concurrent Versions System] is the
tool of choice for version control. Local access to the CVS repository
does not scale; a client/server implementation is required. I will
describe the CVS server that has been set up for the ATLAS experiment at
CERN. It has been built of standard hardware and software components, and
has been designed such that serving other projects from the same server is
easily possible. Recently, the CVS repository of the CHORUS experiment
has been moved to the same CVS server. I will cover both the services
offered to the users, and the implementation from a provider's point of
view.
