Abstract
|
The
design process of LHC involves new achievements in both the accelerator
and detector technologies. Various commercial electronic design
automation (EDA) programs are now available to address these problems.
These include 3-D full wave electromagnetic field solvers used to
characterize a great amount of different subsystems: particle detectors,
high-speed connectors, transmission line structures, and resonant
cavities. This presentation will show how these tools are used at
CERN and how they can interrelate with other engineering tools like
PSpice or Matlab.
