ABSTRACT

In the last few years, the software engineering group at IRST has focused on problems related to the reverse engineering of code and code analysis. Techniques for "reaching definitions" and "points-to analysis", have in particular been developed, and innovative algorithms have been proposed and tested on industrial code.

In this talk, I will outline some of the issues underlying our most recent activity, drawing connections to the general problem of evolving old code towards the Object Oriented paradigm. Reverse Engineering, Wrapping and Refactoring will in particular be considered and discussed.
