ABSTRACT

Java Analysis Studio (JAS) is an experiment independent, cross-platform graphical data analysis environment for HEP. It allows direct access to data in a wide variety of formats including PAW and Objectivity or SQL databases. Data can be retrieved from a local data store, or from a remote data store using Java Agent technology to minimize network bandwidth requirements. JAS can easily be extended using experiment or data specific modules written in Java.

This talk will demonstrate JAS, discuss some pro's and con's of Java as a language for HEP data analysis, and discuss our experiences with a Java framework for future Linear Collider Detector studies.
